Aztlán is the Nahuatl name of ancestral homeland, thought to be a paradise by many, of the Aztec peoples. Interpreted by some scholars to mean “Land of Herons” and believed to exist in what is now the north of Mexico/southern United States, speculation exists as to whether Aztlán is an actual historical location or purely mythical.

It is known by many that the prominent native cultures of Mexico and Central America had a deep understanding of mathematics, astronomy, and physics as evidenced by their advanced astral calendars and monumental ruins.
